I was inspired by Seth Godin, a world-class, marketing guru, to blog everyday. I first thought it’s not possible because I had tried blogging a few times before and couldn’t keep up with it. However, I woke up one morning and thought I should give it another go. Here I am, writing a blog once a day just to share my thoughts and experiences. If you read my blog, please feel free to give me feedback. Writing is not my strengths but intention to communicate is.
I was passionate about education. I setup a personal goal to achieve the highest academic degree before 35. I got a Ph.D. in business strategy in 2008 – when I was 35 years old! I also got a few degrees in international business, business economics, information system, and information management.
I have spent most of my career in marketing. I am working as a head of marketing at a large hospitality company in Australia. However, I don’t see myself as a marketer. Strategy is my passion. I have spent my entire adult life studying strategy. So, I see myself as a strategist. The difference? A strategist is not limited himself in one discipline e.g marketing, finance, accounting, etc. A strategist can use any disciplines to design the outcomes he wants to achieve. As a result, my interest is quite broad. And, that is what I want to share with you.
What else you need to know about me? I live in Australia with my wife and my teenager daughter. My wife and I moved to Australia in 2003. I love travelling. I create a bucket list of places I want to visit before I die. It is quite a long list which would take about 20 years for me to visit all of them.
My professional belief and passion is I intend to make a difference in everything I do. This quote from Andy Warhol explains who I am really well – “The idea is not to live forever, it is to create something that will”.
